This project included both structural and civil demolition works to facilitate the construction of a new precast extension. The addition was seamlessly integrated into the existing structure, expanding the operational space and significantly enhancing the store’s capacity and functionality—ultimately delivering an improved shopping experience for customers. A key element of the project was the installation of a new structural steel canopy. Designed with both form and function in mind, the canopy elevated the visual appeal of the store while providing practical benefits such as enhanced weather protection for customers and staff.

In addition to physical upgrades, the project included new services installations, such as hydraulic improvements for stormwater management and other critical systems. These upgrades were essential to ensuring the facility operated efficiently and remained fully compliant with regulatory requirements.

Throughout the duration of the works, particular attention was given to managing noise and minimising disruption to Big W’s clients and staff. All activities were carefully planned and coordinated to reduce impact on daily operations. Regular, clear communication with the store manager ensured full transparency regarding upcoming works and project stages, allowing the store to prepare and adapt as needed. Centre management was also engaged in the same professional manner, with proactive updates and ongoing collaboration helping to eliminate unnecessary concerns and maintain confidence in the project’s delivery.
