This project involved the delivery of a new fire service water storage and pump system for the Freeway Golf Course workshop facility, located adjacent to the Eastern Freeway. The scope included the installation of twin circular fire service tanks, a dedicated fire pump set, booster connection infrastructure, and an engineered slab.  

The system included two 72,000-litre circular fire tanks, a compliant fire pump assembly, and fire brigade booster access provisions. The structural works included the construction of a reinforced concrete slab designed to support the significant loads from the fully charged tanks and pump equipment. Delivered on a Class P site, the foundation solution required careful geotechnical consideration, with the slab founded on 16-metre screw piles. All works were carefully integrated into the existing workshop operations and surrounding infrastructure, ensuring full compliance with current fire service, hydraulic and structural standards. 

A key challenge of the project was coordinating site access alongside the North East Link Project, requiring flexible programming, staged deliveries, and proactive stakeholder coordination to manage shared access constraints. Through careful planning and strong communication, works were sequenced efficiently without disruption to adjacent project activities. 

Originally programmed for 7 weeks, the project was completed in 6. This outcome reflects disciplined project management, early procurement of long-lead items, streamlined piling and slab sequencing, and effective coordination across structural, hydraulic and civil interfaces.
